The MSCI Index is a measurement of stock market performance in a particular area. MSCI stands for Morgan Stanley Capital International. MSCI Barra now manages the 160,000 indexes. Like other indexes, such as the Dow Jones Averages or the S&P 500, it tracks the performance of the stocks included in the index. MSCI Frontier Markets Index: The Frontier index is used as a benchmark to measure the performance of the financial markets in select countries from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Europe. Some of the frontier regions with stocks included in this index are Kuwait, Vietnam, Morocco, Lebanon, Kenya, MSCI will announce all additions to and deletions from the MSCI Standard Index Series and the MSCI Small Cap Index Series two days, if possible, prior to their index implementation. If warranted, MSCI may make additional announcements regarding changes to the MSCI Standard Index Series and the MSCI Small Cap Index Series.
